🌬️ Breathe out slowly

No home remedy here replaces treatment, and none is talked down. What has done good for generations does good — even if no one ever measured it. Where something is well studied, it says so. Where it is only experience, it says that too.

What you do

Breathe in for four seconds, out for six to eight, for five minutes — sitting or lying.

Why it is plausible

A long out-breath activates the calming part of the nervous system; pulse and tension fall measurably.

What it cannot do

It interrupts tension, it does not resolve a cause.

When to leave it

No restriction. If you feel dizzy, simply breathe shorter and shallower.

When it is no longer a home remedy

When it is no longer a home remedy

Get seen at once: the sudden, worst headache of your life, headache with fever and a stiff neck, with weakness, speech or vision trouble. Likewise dizziness with double vision or an unsteady gait. Sleeplessness over weeks with loss of drive is something to discuss, not to endure.
