No home remedy here replaces treatment, and none is talked down. What has done good for generations does good — even if no one ever measured it. Where something is well studied, it says so. Where it is only experience, it says that too.
Apply warmth, then slowly: tilt the ear towards the shoulder and hold twenty seconds, both sides, three times. Then circle the shoulders ten times. No jerking, no forcing a crack.
Warmth improves blood flow in tense neck muscles, and slow stretching releases them better than quick movements.
Does not fix the cause if it lies in the screen setup or the pillow. And a crack means nothing — neither good nor bad.
Not with neck pain accompanied by fever, stiffness down to the chin, after a fall, or radiating into the arm with numbness.
Have it assessed rather than treated at home: back pain with numbness in the saddle area, disturbed bladder or bowel function, weakness or fever. A joint that cannot bear weight after an injury, or is deformed. A one-sided swollen, warm leg.
